This exquisite jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this artwork can never be matched.
Description
Beautiful and unique, this piece of artwork measures approx. 4″ wide x 6 1/2″ tall from bottom to top of the black cat’s ears. It holds approx. 1 3/4 cups to the inside rim beneath the lid.
This very elegant and ornate jar is uniquely amazing with its combination of black and purple glazes and carved styling that include a vine rimmed base, and a gorgeous lid with a hand sculpted sitting cat.
-Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown and the lid is individually hand formed, then hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, glazes. The glazes on our pieces are simply stunning!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
