A gray squirrel holds a raw Lake County Diamond on this uniquely designed olive green garlic keeper that will keep your garlic nicely and can be used as a luminary or garlic roaster.
This exquisite jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery
Description
A gray squirrel holds a raw Lake County Diamond on this uniquely designed olive green garlic keeper that measures approx. 4″ wide x 6″ tall from bottom to top of the squirrel’s ears on the lid. It will keep your garlic nicely and can be used for other treasures, too ~ even a luminary when the lid is off. Great for roasting single heads of garlic. A smaller keeper, this piece holds approx. 1 1/2 cups ~ 1-3 large cloves, or more smaller cloves.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay (some from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown and the beautifully styled lid is hand formed with a ring of brighter green leaf impressions and a hand sculpted little Gray Squirrel knob. Then, everything is hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes.
To top it all off, I’ve fired in a raw Lake County Diamond in the squirrels paws. Lake County Diamonds are only found locally and are a gift from Mt. Konocti, our volcano.
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
