This exquisite canister, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this treasure can never be matched.
Description
A delightfully unique farmhouse kitchen canister, glazed in our specialty line of Wild Blue Forest Rain measures approx. 5″ wide x 5 1/2″ tall from bottom to top of the little red hen’s tail feathers. It holds approx. 2 1/4 cups to the inside rim beneath the lid, making is a perfect addition for your storage ideas.
-Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown with a double layer of vines and leaves. The lid is individually hand formed with a deep floral design, and the look is topped off with a hand sculpted little red farmhouse hen. This piece is hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The glazes on our pieces are simply stunning!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
