This gorgeous artwork, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this piece can never be matched.
Description
This extra large cookie jar features a metallic black owl on a branch surrounded by owl impressions. Amazingly beautiful with its Wild Red Fire Glaze combinations, this canister measures approx. 9″ tall (to the top of the owl) x 7 1/2″ wide. It holds approx. 12 1/2 cups.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown and inscribed with a detailed scroll design along the bottom. The lid is hand formed with detailed owls surrounding a hand sculpted metallic black owl on a set of light brown tree branches that tops off the look as the knob. This piece is glazed with food safe, and oven safe glazes. PLEASE HAND WASH THIS PIECE OF ART. No microwave, please. The Wild Red Fire glazes on these pieces are simply gorgeous and are part of Wild Crow Farm’s Elemental collection.
Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
Our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
