Fancy Octopus Cookie Jar

A hand sculpted red octopus knob tops this amazing OOAK cookie jar glazed in deep blue green sea and featuring a hand painted octopus on the front and top of this canister.

Part of our Northern California ocean series, this set has plenty of room for your treats and nautical treasures.  This canister measures from the bottom to the top of the octopus handle approximately 7 1/4″ tall x 6 1/2″ wide.  It holds approx. 8 1/2 cups.

-This wonderfully detailed jar has been reduced in price because there is a slight visual crack (not structural) as a set of legs joins the body of the octopus knob.  Otherwise, this  gorgeous piece is perfect.  Our loss is your gain.  Please enlarge the lid photos for a closer look.

-Created from sandy Northern California clay, the base are wheel thrown.  The lids are each hand formed and sculpted.  The pieces were then hand glazed with food safe glazes. The glazes and designs on our pieces are simply captivating!

-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.

-Our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your pieces are always one of a kind, and priceless.
