This beautiful lidded canister with a nesting chicken knob is large enough for cookies or coffee beans, this jar holds approx. 5 cups to the inside rim beneath the lid.
This exquisite canister, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery.
Description
This beautiful lidded canister with a nesting chicken knob measures approx. 5 1/4″ wide x 8 1/2″ tall from bottom to the hen’s comb on the lid. Large enough for cookies or coffee beans, this jar holds approx. 5 cups to the inside rim beneath the lid.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown. The lid is hand formed with green leaves surrounding a little white hen sitting on a nest. All is lovingly hand glazed with gorgeous rain greens and iridescent highlights.
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
