Ornately detailed in black with a fresh set of chili peppers for the knob, this amazing slotted salsa jar is a great way to serve up your favorite homemade salsa, or sugar.
This exquisite salsa jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this art can never be matched.
Description
Ornately detailed in black with a fresh set of chili peppers for the knob, this amazing slotted salsa jar (that works great as a sugar bowl or honey pot) is a great way to serve up your favorite salsa. Completely unique, this piece measures approx. 4 1/4″ wide x 5″ tall from bottom to top of the chili stack on the knob. This piece holds approx. 1 1/2 cups.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay (some from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown. The beautifully styled lid is hand formed with yellow, orange and red chili pepper and a slotted utensil opening. This piece is hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The black glaze has remarkable blue highlights along the rim for that extra special touch.
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
