Sitting against a full moon, a little copper colored owl finishes off the look of this ornate honey jar.  This artwork is perfect as a sugar bowl with its slotted lid.

This artwork, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this gem of a piece can never be matched.

Description

This unique little owl slotted honey jar or sugar bowl measures approx. 4″ wide x 4 1/2″ tall from bottom to the top of the owl on the lid. Holds approx. 1 cup to the inside rim beneath the lid.

Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown with added vines and leaves. The lid is hand formed with an ornate pattern and a hand sculpted little copper owl sits on branches against a full yellow moon. Everything is glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The glazes on this piece are simply gorgeous in flowing rustic browns with hints of copper!

 

-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
