This exquisite garlic keeper, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery.
Description
This beautiful deep elemental fire red garlic keeper features an owl on a branch knob and unique air hole design. It measures approx. 4 1/4″ wide x 5 3/4″ tall from bottom to top of the owl’s horns on the lid. It will keep your garlic nicely and can be used for other treasures, too ~ even a luminary when the lid is off. Great for roasting single heads of garlic. A smaller keeper, this piece holds approx. 2 1/2 cups ~ 5-6 large cloves, or more smaller cloves.
-Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown, engraved around the base, and the lid is hand formed with an engraved metallic owl knob. Then, this piece was hand glazed with our specialty elemental fire glazes that are food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The owl itself is not microwave safe. The glazes on our pieces are simply stunning!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece is always one of a kind, and priceless.
