This exquisite hand made garlic jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this piece can never be matched.
Description
Glazed in a a gorgeous stormy blue, this uniquely beautiful garlic keeper measures approx. 4″ wide x 5″ tall from bottom to top of the little white hen’s comb on the lid. It will keep your garlic nicely ~ even great as a luminary when the lid is off. Perfect for roasting single heads of garlic. A smaller keeper, this piece holds approx. 1 cup ~ 1-2 large cloves, or more smaller cloves.
Created with white sandy Northern California clay (some from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown, engraved around the base, and the beautifully styled lid is hand formed with a hand sculpted little white chicken and her two eggs. Everything is hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes.
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
