This garlic keeper with its geometric lid and little copper owl is glazed in our specialty Midnight Storm glazes. ~Makes a great luminary or potpourri container!
This owl garlic jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this artwork can never be matched.
Description
This garlic keeper with its geometric lid and little copper owl is glazed in our specialty Midnight Storm glazes. It measures approx. 3 3/4″ wide x 5″ tall from bottom to top of the owl’s horns on the lid. It will keep your garlic nicely and can be used for other treasures, too ~ even a luminary when the lid is off. Great for roasting single heads of garlic. A smaller keeper, this piece holds approx. 1 1/2 cups ~ 3-4 large cloves, or more smaller cloves.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay (some from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown with a vine and leaf impression. The beautifully styled geometric pattern lid is hand formed and surrounds a hand sculpted copper forest owl. Then, everything is hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes.
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
