A very unique garlic keeper, this piece has a hand sculpted black crow sitting on her nest with two white eggs centered on an ornately detailed lid, glazed in a crystalline green.

This exquisite handmade garlic jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this artwork can never be matched.

Description

A very unique garlic keeper, this piece has a hand sculpted black crow sitting on her nest with two white eggs centered on an ornately detailed lid.  Glazed in a crystalline green forest glaze with our special combination of highlights, it measures approx. 4″ wide x 5 1/2″ tall from bottom to top of the bird on the lid. It will keep your garlic nicely and can be used for other treasures, too ~ even a luminary when the lid is off. Great for roasting single heads of garlic. This piece holds approx. 2 cups ~ 4-6 large cloves, or more smaller cloves.

Created from white sandy Northern California clay (some from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown and engraved to catch the flowing glazes. The beautifully styled lid is hand formed with a hand sculpted black crow on her nest with tiny white eggs. Everything is hand glazed in our crystalline glaze combinations that are food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe.

-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
