Hand sculpted red octopus knobs top this set of two OOAK canisters glazed in deep blue sea and featuring hand painted octopus on each canister. Part of our Northern California ocean series, this set has plenty of room for your treats and nautical treasures. Three octopi float on the base of the largest canister, one on the face of the smaller canister.
The canisters measure from the bottom to the top of the octopus handle approximately:
Large cookie jar size canister ~ 9 1/4″ tall x 5 1/4″ wide. Holds approx. 8 1/2 cups.
Smaller sugar jar size canister ~ 6 1/2″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide. Holds approx. 2 1/2 cups.
-Created from sandy Northern California clay, the base are wheel thrown. The lids are each hand formed and sculpted. The pieces were then hand glazed with food safe glazes. The glazes and designs on our pieces are simply captivating!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your pieces are always one of a kind, and priceless.
