Ocean Blue Owl Canister with Brown Owl Knob

A hand crafted brown owl with yellow eyes sits atop an ocean blue carved canister with four detailed owls on the lid and a detailed base.

This amazingly beautiful jar measures approx. 6 1/4 ” tall (to the top of the owl) x 5″ wide. It holds approx. 2 1/4 cups or 550 ml.

Created from white sandy Northern California clay (some mined from my own farm), the base is wheel thrown and etched with a herringbone pattern along the bottom.  The lid is hand formed with four gorgeously designed owls impressed, then a hand sculpted brown owl with yellow eyes tops off the look as the knob.  This piece is glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The glazes on these pieces are simply gorgeous with their flowing ocean blue green colors in multiple layers.

-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
