Surrounded by green leaves and glazed in a soft rain forest green celedon and highlighted with purple and teal, this beautiful lidded jar features a hand sculpted blue bird sitting on her nest of three eggs.
This exquisite jar, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery.
Description
Surrounded by green leaves and glazed in a soft rain forest green celedon and highlighted with purple and teal, this beautiful lidded jar features a hand sculpted blue bird sitting on her nest of three eggs. It measures approx. 4″ wide x 6″ tall from bottom to the top of the bird on the lid. Small circles are impressed along the base for added interest.
-Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown and the lid is individually hand formed, then hand glazed with food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe glazes. The glazes on our pieces are simply stunning!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
-Please note that all of our stoneware pottery is hand crafted and no molds are used in the creation of our vessels, so please expect variations in hand applied glaze techniques and shapes. This ensures that your piece(s) are always one of a kind, and priceless.
