Bright orange with tiny speckles, this canister has a little white nesting hen who brings a touch of originality and color with her.
This exceptional artwork, like the other pottery available from WildCrowFarm, is not production pottery and the only one in existence due to the single firing schedule and variability of the hands of the artist and the unpredictability in high-fire pottery. Some of our pottery will be similar but this treasure can never be matched.
Description
With a bright pop of orange, this beautiful canister with a little nesting chicken measures approx. 4 1/4″ wide x 7 1/2″ tall from bottom to the hen’s comb on the lid. Holds approx. 2 1/2 cups to the inside rim beneath the lid.
Created from white sandy Northern California clay, the base is wheel thrown, then engraved with little hen tracks running along across the bottom of the canister. The lid is hand formed with a hand sculpted little white hen sitting on her nest for the knob.
The glazes on our pieces are simply stunning!
-Stoneware fired to over 2200 degrees for durability and ease of use and cleaning. The bottoms are unglazed and feature our maker’s mark.
